What makes a resort actually "luxury" in the US?
Not the nightly rate — the staffing and the space. The measurables that separate genuine luxury from expensive: staff-to-room ratio (service texture), room count (a 90-key property and a 900-key property are different products at any price), what the rate includes versus fees on top, and whether dining, spa, and grounds are destinations or amenities-by-checkbox.
